Key Risks in Covenants with a Focus on Distress
In June 2023 we presented our first live event in Central London. We selected a topic of paramount importance to market participants – Key Risks in Covenants with a Focus on Distress.
The discussion covered critical terms to consider when a borrower is entering troubled waters.
Sabrina guided participants through covenant analysis in distressed scenarios, and the recording became a new module, Stressed & Distressed Covenant Analysis, part of our Advanced Covenant Analysis course.
Introduction to Intercreditor Agreements & Introduction to Stressed & Distressed Investing
In this in-person event, Sabrina Fox unlocked the complexities of intercreditor agreements with an in-depth presentation designed for industry professionals seeking to enhance their expertise in debt structuring and creditor relationships.
We also welcomed special guest, market veteran Glenn Zahn, who presented anIntroduction to Stressed & Distressed Investing, exploring a case study and restructuring regimes in the UK, France and Germany.
These became our newest courses, Introduction to Intercreditor Agreements and Introduction to Stressed & Distressed Investing.
Practical Covenant Analysis
In March 2024, our founder Sabrina Fox taught students and guests practical skills for analyzing each key covenant in a leveraged finance covenant package. The presentation included tools for efficiently analyzing atypical levfin deal, whether a high yield bond, leveraged loan or private credit agreement.
We were also joined by Andrew Martin and Matthew Hughs from Crowell & Moring LLP, who delivered a presentation on distressed debt and claims trading, including issues in modern syndicated credit agreements. The recording became our new course, Practical Analysis Skills.
Mastering Covenant Principles
In January 2024, Sabrina Fox presented Mastering Covenant Principles, guiding participants through the underlying purpose of each covenant in a typical leveraged finance transaction. This approach was designed to take us out of the detail, where it is easy to get bogged down, and into the conceptual reality to develop a deeper understanding of the provision.
We were joined by leading professionals Andrew Knight and Jennifer Kafcas, partners from Crowell & Moring LLP. Andrew and Jennifer discussed the latest trends in intercreditor arrangements and revolving credit facilities and answered questions. The recording was turned into a new course, Mastering Covenant Principles, which is part of our Advanced Covenant Analysis course.
Calculating Covenant Capacity
In September 2023, we conducted a covenant teach-in, Calculating Covenant Capacity. During the session our founder, Sabrina Fox, walked students through conducting covenant calculations using a case study and financial statements from a real-life borrower.
We also examined actual EBITDA add-backs devised by borrowers and their advisers in the wake of the pandemic, with a special guest in attendance to give us some colour on the art of the possible. The recording became a new module, Calculating Covenant Capacity, which is part of our Advanced Covenant Analysis course.
